The La Paz Malecon (Boardwalk):
Walking or biking along the La Paz malecon is a must. This is the most important gathering spot for both locals and visitors and it’s no surprise why: its 5 km are full of restaurants, bars, cafeterias and all kind of tourist services at your reach. Don’t forget to take a picture in the letters, located close to Hotel Plaza Real.
Cathedral of Our Lady of La Paz:
Right in the central part of La Paz is this lovely neoclassical-style building, small and simple but with an undeniable charm that makes it a jewel of the city.
Baja California Sur Museum of Art:
The MUABCS is dedicated to exhibit the local modern and contemporary art. It open its doors Tuesday to Sunday and the entrance is completely free.
Beaches:
You don’t have to wait until summer to enjoy a beach day! La Paz offers a warm and sunny weather most of the year, which is just perfect to visit some of Mexico’s prettiest beaches.
- Balandra. An icon of the city of La Paz, Balandra is wonderful for kayaking or paddle boarding, for hiking or just relaxing on the sand. Take into consideration that there are hours to visit this beach and the times change depending on the season.
- El Coromuel. One of the closest beaches to the city downtown, less than 15 minutes from it, which makes it perfect for a family visit.
- El Tecolote. A favorite of all, it is ideal to relax under the shade of a palapa or enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants located here.
- El Tesoro. Its shallow waters make it the best option for a visit with the little ones. It is less than 13 km from downtown La Paz.
Magic Town of Todos Santos:
Less than two hours from La Paz is this colorful Magic Town, a community known for its cultural and artistic vein. Host of the Todos Santos Film Festival and many other events that gather visitors from all over the state.
El Triunfo:
45 minutes away from La Paz you’ll find this former mining town, full of historical corners and with an attractive offer for those who visit it, which includes the Silver Museum, the Music Museum, the iconic chimneys and an interesting culinary proposal made of restaurants that offer from the most delicious local delights to international cuisine.
